UBIN PHOTO
PROJECT RAISES $41,000.00 for PRESIDENT's CHARITY 2007
Needy in Singapore to Benefit from Special Autographed Prints
The Ubin of Yesteryear Project raised $41,000 in November 2007 for the
annual President's Challenge 2007. Organised by the National Youth
Achievement Award Council, the 13 framed color photo prints of Singapore's
vintage island raised much appreciated funds for the needy in Singapore.
Donors and collectors consisted of blue-chip institutions such as Singtel,
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Keppel Offshore, etc as well as high profile
individuals such as the Kuok Family, Mr Derek Goh, Prof Leo Tan, etc. Each
special limited edition print is autographed by both Singapore's President
S.R. Nathan and the photographer. The 5 distinguished photographers were
Lance Lee from Offstone, Ken Liong from PixSync, Darren Soh from
FullFramePhotos, Nelson Tan from Canon, and Victor Lai.
"I am so happy that our many photo trips to Ubin years ago actually
yielded long term returns back to the larger community," said Ken Liong, Founder
and Principal Photographer of PixSync. "I would like to take this
opportunity to especially thank NYAA Executive Director Mr James Soh for his
tireless efforts in always encouraging youths like myself to reach for our
greatest potential while remembering society."
